In 1963, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, the Epsilon Psi Omega Chapter recognized the immediate need for a cultural and social atmosphere for youth.  The first Sub Deb Clinic, for girls thirteen through seventeen years of age, was initiated. The first Debutante Ball for high school young ladies was held on January 25, 1963.  Realizing that our program needed broadening in 1973, we initiated “Alpha Kappa Alpha Project Touch."  Specifically, we aim to “touch” the lives of young women by helping them to become mature, responsible, well-adjusted, and poised adults.

Our Cotillion is a formal ball sponsored by Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Epsilon Psi Omega Chapter where young women are introduced to society by their parents or guardians.  The Cotillion is the culmination of health and wellness, education, leadership and career development, cultural, and community service activities that will enhance their lives.  Through these activities, we hope to motivate and educate program participants to grow academically, professionally, and culturally.

Our activities are carefully planned and selected so that the young ladies will have the opportunity to maximize viable learning experiences. The members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Epsilon Psi Omega Chapter are committed to making this a noteworthy and memorable experience for our Debutantes.

Together, we add new dimensions of personal and social growth for each participant.
